来る１２月９日（金）１３時から、ミシガン大学助教授のシェアーズ先生をお招きして、講演会を開催致します。
先生は、小惑星「イトカワ」へ到着した「はやぶさ（MUSES-C）」プロジェクトに米国から参加されました。近く帰国されますが、その前にご講演いただく予定です。
公開しますのでご興味のある方は、学生諸君・教職員のみならず、多くの方が、参加下さるようお願い申し上げます。

小惑星への宇宙探検ミッション
(Space Exploration Missions to Asteroids)

概要

Space missions to asteroids have been launched or considered by all the major space exploration agencies of the world. This talk will introduce the science of asteroids, why exploration missions to them are of interest, and the challenges of navigating a spacecraft in close proximity to an asteroid. The NASA mission to the asteroid Eros will be discussed in detail, and planning for the Japanese Hayabusa mission to asteroid Itokawa will be introduced as well.
